Getting Ahead of Federal Guidelines: How Transportation Decision-Makers Can Implement an Agile Framework for Equitable Public Involvement
This webinar was previously recorded on February 22, 2023.
After the late 2022 announcement that $1.5 Billion in grant funding will be available through the Rebuilding Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity (RAISE) discretionary program for 2023, state and local transportation agencies were provided another opportunity to get more support for their projects.
And this isn’t the last of the funding opportunities that will be available. It’s expected that more funding is ahead for projects that address important issues of safety, equity, improving services, and boosting transit ridership. But we also know that specific guidelines for public engagement as a part of these measures have yet to be published.
Watch this recorded webinar and learn how you can implement equitable public involvement practices and create an agile framework that keeps your team nimble in the face of ever changing requirements.
During this session, experts from PublicInput and StreetLight cover the USDOT’s six features of meaningful public involvement, and how to build a framework that ensures success in these pillars:
- Understanding your community demographics
- Building durable community relationships
- Understanding community wants and needs
- Involving broad representation of community
- Using community-preferred engagement techniques
- Documenting and sharing community’s impact on decisions
StreetLight joins us for this webinar to discuss how to use Big Data and their proprietary Route Science® to identify, scope, and communicate your region’s most pressing transportation needs when applying for Bipartisan Infrastructure Law funds. These innovative digital solutions help communities reduce congestion, improve safe and equitable transportation, and maximize the positive impact of infrastructure investment.
